Tanzania is
world famous for its spectacular wildlife and sceneries; it’s a country having
an incredible array of beautiful and lesser-known areas to be explored, which
you usually don’t get to see on a television. We have all seen Lions hunting, Cheetahs
running and Hyenas laughing on the educational TV shows, but an exhilarating
safari experience on these grasslands is something that every wildlife lover or
a traveller should add to his/her bucket list.
The national
parks in Tanzania are having a huge concentration of Wildebeests and Zebras
which migrate from Serengeti every year seeking fresh grazing and water. Thousands
of tourists during this period gather to witness the breath-taking view. If you are planning a wildlife safari to Tanzania, April & May is perhaps the besttime to participate in this exciting natural event. For sure, the great migration has a lot in
store for you and the children to explore!!
THE BIG 5
Gazelles and
impalas too join the great migration. So, during this period you’ll get the
best chance to witness the big five giants of Africa, which are the African
Brown Elephants, Buffalos, African Rhinos, Leopards and of course the Lions.
As, this is the golden period for the predators, they hunt in groups and you get
easy sightings of these animals, if lucky you might be able to see these
animals in live action.
THE RIVERS
The
breath-taking view at the rivers of Tanzania is also home to the giant Hippos which
are believed to be very territorial and the Nile Crocodiles. You will get to
see these patient predators waiting under the water to hunt down their prey. When
the animals gather to cross the river, then it’s a feast for the crocs. This is
something one must experience in this lifetime, if you love photography then
you are definitely getting some amazing shots.
THE SCAVENGERS
The remains of
the dead attract Hyenas laughing around and Vultures patiently circling
overhead waiting to scavenge. When you will go for a safari, the tour guides
follow these Vultures for tracking down a Lion pride or any other predator like
Leopard, Cheetahs or a Pack of Wild Dogs. Jackals, Giraffes and other mammals too
can be seen feeding around.
